Fran has been a wonderful support to both of our girls with Maths since Year 7.  She has an excellent approach to explaining the maths problems in a clear and calm manner, which has helped both girls to build their confidence in preparing for GCSEs.  Our girls really enjoy their tutorials and they do not hesitate to join her classes and complete the work on time. Her coaching has meant that neither of our children ever felt stressed by maths classes at school and when problems arose at school which they couldn’t resolve in class, Fran always helped to explain and teach them again during the tutorials, explaining clearly and providing working examples.

My daughter was really struggling with maths and Fran came highly recommended by a friend.  It wasn't an easy challenge as my daughter had little interest in maths as she found it so difficult, but Fran was very patient and had so many helpful tips on how to remember and understand formulas etc.  My daughter went on to pass her Maths GCSE.  I would highly recommend Fran.

This is by way of a reference and a letter of gratitude for Fran as a tutor. Fran tutored my daughter Ellen in maths from primary school onwards (with a break at one point). My daughter was during that time diagnosed with dyslexia, and has always struggled to learn in a classroom environment and despite my best efforts I was just making things worse.
Fran was incredibly patient and calm with her, there was never a rush or pressure but at the same time Ellen respected Frans boundaries. The sticker charts were great motivators. I don't know if Fran ever knew that the only work Ellen did outside of the weekly lessons were 5 minutes before Fran came. She would look back over her work and the latest maths targets which had been set! Fran was able to teach complicated (to me) concepts in a way that made sense to her.
As it happened, Maths was the only GCSE that Ellen actually sat, as she took it early in January - before the lockdowns started. She was ahead of her class mates and gained confidence and self belief. She got the top mark she could for the foundation paper - a 5, and was delighted.
Fran also did some work with my younger daughter who is very gifted in maths. She didn't need help to keep up, but in efforts to extend her learning her school teachers had left some gaps in higher maths knowledge that Fran was able to help her fill in.
Fran teaches maths in a way that even I understood - I want to thank her for making all of our lives so much easier as my daughters found their way through their school years. They both gained in maths knowledge and confidence, respect and communication as a result of their lessons with Fran.

Fran worked with our daughter for a number of years right through to her GCSE.  Initially we simply wanted some support because our daughter didn’t really enjoy her maths and consequently lacked confidence to achieve what she could.

Due to her support and encouragement our daughter's attitude to maths turned around and her confidence and enjoyment grew.  Ultimately she was happy and able to stand in front of her classmates and work through examples in class.  We ended up working with Fran into the GCSE years where the ultimate result was a GCSE A grade maths student!

Fran was a fantastic tutor for our daughter, she got on really well with her, and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough to anyone needing support.
